Chapel Farnese - Accursio Palace - Bologna The winner of the award 2012 is Marie Beatrice Umutesi, a Rwandan sociologist, a member of an ethnic group, Hutu, and for this reason she have to run away, after the genocide of Tutsi in 1994, because of the anti genocide, that had involved also the Congolese population. In effect Umutesi, as she has told in her book “Mourir o fruir au Zaire”, she crossed forcedly, and in a inhuman condition, for 2.000 Km of Zairian’s forest with other 600.000 people, inciting by the Rwandan army Tutsi. Her brave condemnation, against the actual Kigali govern, impede her to return in her homeland.
