2015 International "Daniele Po" Award to Yasmeen Al Najjar and Taya Govreen Segal

The "Daniele Po" International Award 2015 is awarded to Palestinian Yasmeen Al Najjar, a nineteen-year-old girl disabled since the age of three who, despite having an amputated limb, managed to realize her dream of climbing Kilimanjaro, bringing, with her extraordinary feat, the attention of the international media on the difficult life of many young people and of all the Palestinian people still forced to suffer deprivation and undue violence and to the Israeli Taya Govreen Segal young independent video reporter engaged in social work, feminist, signatory, together with other young people, of a document rejecting compulsory military service and the policy of occupation and violation of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people by the state of Israel.
Both testify to the will of the young generations to resolve, without further bloodshed, a now intolerable conflictual and inequitable issue, claiming their right to a life of peaceful coexistence in two free states.
