Palazzo d'Accursio - Farnese Chapel - Bologna 7 October 2017 The 2017 "Daniele Po" International Prize is awarded to Zara Mourtazalieva, a young Chechen student unjustly sentenced to nine years in prison in a Russian penal colony. Zara is the personification of tenacity and dignity, having preferred to serve her harsh sentence as an innocent rather than plead guilty to obtain clemency. Victim of a corrupt system, he had the solidarity of public opinion, reawakening in consciences the sense of justice and the search for truth. The Russian dissident journalist Zoya Svetova was present. The award was hosted by television journalist Caterina Dall'Olio.
